As a woman entrepreneur you may not consider yourself brave, but perhaps you haven't thought about how each letter in the word describes you.

B stands for the belief you have in yourself to take a risk in going it alone and starting your own business. Many women and men talk about developing their ideas into a business, but few actually take the plunge. Your belief in yourself is the catalyst to your success.

R stands for responsibility. The difference between working a 40-hour work week for someone else's business or taking on the responsibility for the overhead for your own including providing the food and shelter for the people and their families who work for you is monumental. Give yourself some well-deserved credit for being responsible. The majority of the small business owners I know make sure every expense and salary is paid before they take care of themselves. You are a special breed - you take responsibility for yourself and your life.

A stands for attitude. You realize business is a roller coaster ride with no guarantees, yet you view every day as an opportunity to take on the world and make it a better place with the business you have created. Your positive attitude means that for you anything is possible. Behind every door is an opportunity waiting to take your business to the next level. Every person you meet is most likely your next best customer or an introduction to one.

V stands for value. You know how to value yourself, the people that work for you and your customers. You know how important it is that your business provide value and you work tirelessly to demonstate it and keep it relevant. As a woman you have not always been valued for your work or your ideas. You've learn that you kust value yourself and others to succeed in business.

E stands for energy and enthusiasm. You bring your energy and enthusiasm to the workplace because you control it. You crave the opportunity to have an impact on those around you and work to make the workplace a better place. You have worked for others and now have chosen  to work for yourself. You are a role model for other women in business and they are motivated by your enthusiasm for the business you are building.

Yes, male entrepreneurs are BRAVE as well, but not because they have to be because society supports them unconditionally in their businesses.

As women entrepreneurs we are given a chance to prove ourselves when we launch a business. Society reminds us of the pros and cons of what we are doing and how it affects our significant others, our children, our employees, our investors and ourselves. The media editorializes that  we are selfish to start a business because traditionally our job is to support not lead.

But, women entrepreneurs are unstoppable because we are B.R.A.V.E.
