Women Entrepreneurs Love The Oscars!

I have to admit I wait all year long for this night -- Oscar Night! The fantasy of dressing like a princess and winning an award for what we do best is the dream of every women entrepreneur. After all -- we just want to be respected for our hard work and taken seriously by our fans!

women entrepreneurs looking goodThis is also the reason why women entrepreneurs are the majority Facebook users. It takes a lot of self confidence to be willing to put yourself out there in business and then ask those you want to attract to admit to "like" you and your business.

Once again, women entrepreneurs have such a difficult time of separating ourselves with our businesses, we take it very personally whether or not our prospects, our customers, our vendors and even our employees "like" us.

So, as you watch the Red Carpet tonight, take time to think about how each of these women is serious about what she does. As you spend time picking apart the designer gown she is wearing, how she wears her hair and whether or not she has spent enough time at the gym this year, remember that, like you, she is doing her best to succeed in a business world that is still dominated and controlled by men. She, like you, has doubts about whether or not what she has decided to devote her life to is respected and liked by her peers. By putting herself and her talents on display, she, like you, is taking a risk --- the risk that the work she has put so much effort into will not be seen as worthy.

Of course, actresses are not women entrepreneurs, but like all of us their work is no less tempestuous. They spend most of their time making it all look good on the outside when what's really important is the work itself.

So, tonight let's all enjoy what Oscar Night is really all about---hard working women, and men,  looking for the respect of their peers --- isn't that what we all want?
