You don't have to be a woman entrepreneur to get a little choked up at this time of year. Whether or not your business is going according to plan you know that others are in much greater need. Thanksgiving is that time of year to step back from our problems and pay attention to what we are truly grateful for.
My mother always use to say, "Count your blessings...Not your problems" and I have learned that mother always knew best. Why spend precious time thinking about what could go wrong or what went wrong when the same time could be better spent working on a solution or preparing for the future. Another gem from my mom was, "No one ever said life was fair, but what you make of it is your choice." No truer words were ever spoken. Spending all your time trying to measure life's treasures and attempting to get your fair share is idiocy at the highest level. Sometimes the harsh realities of life reign down upon us and years later we realize the experience, although difficult at the time, brings greater appreciation and satisfaction then we ever could have imagined. Life is a journey and there will be bumps in the road and everyone will be an adventure.
So, here is my list for the top 10 things every woman entrepreneur and woman in business should be grateful for:
1) Limitless educational opportunities
2) Female role models in every industry and profession
3) Choice to be whatever you want to be
4) Women's groups and organizations in every community
5) Acceptance to do it your way
6) Girlfriends who support your ups and downs
7) Family (whatever it means to you) who provide unconditional love
8) Credit in your own name (Equal Credit Act enacted in 1974)
9) The ability to make a difference at home, at work, in the community and around the world
10) Today - it is the most precious, as now is the beginning of the future
Take time to be grateful for all the things that are right in your life and business. Gratitude gives you an opportunity to look at your life with a positive lens and keep moving forward to create your dreams. I am grateful for your time.
THANK YOU!
