The women's movement has been successful in a lot of ways but as Lauren Rikleen points out, with her recent report, it's men that have been the greatest recipients of the struggle, titled: "Opinion: Read all about it..."
As women, we must not take the work of those they came before us lightly or believe that the changes have been accepted universally. The report, and other reports like it such as the Shriver report referenced show clearly that women have a lot of work to do to achieve not only equality but long term happiness for the fight itself. So what are we going to do about it? What can each woman do to make sure that the next generation of women don't feel that there are obstacles at every turn for making the choices they do? The answer - support one another, unconditionally! Refer each other consistently! Vote for each other with confidence that the more women we have in government the more women's feeling of power and influence will be felt. Women across the country depend on each of us that can do something about it to JUST DO IT!
