3 Reasons Why Women Entrepreneurs Should Blog

Sharing thoughts and expertise is critical to the success of women entrepreneurs. What surprises me is how many women in business don't blog. The reasons range from, "I don't know what to blog about" to "I don't know enough about anything to position myself as an expert." To these excuses I say REALLY? woman entrepreneur blogger

First, women clearly have much more to say about everything than men otherwise we wouldn't always be talking. And, second, if you don't consider yourself an expert in your field why should anyone else?

The fact is women are as much thoughtleaders as men. We have no trouble verbally telling everyone we know what to do, what to think and how to act. So, why is it so difficult to put it in writing?

I believe, for many women, this goes back to when they were young and someone - a parent, a sibling, a teacher, a boss - judged them on something (anything) they wrote, chastising their opinion. When you have had your opinions chipped away all your life it is difficult to take a stand and put them in writing - whether in a blog, an article, a book or even a letter. Perhaps this is why so many women journal and/or have diaries.

However, with more visible women thoughtleaders, we empower the next generation of women who believe they have something to say and share. So, if you are a woman entrepreneur, a woman in business or a woman with a dream start blogging.

Here are the 3 reasons why I blog:

(1) Share my knowledge and experience as an entrepreneur

(2) Teach how to start, grow and exit a small business

(3) Encourage women to believe in themselves and follow their dreams

Here are the 3 reasons YOU should blog:

(1) You know your business better than anyone else - you live it which makes you an expert!

(2) You are on a journey that others can learn from!

(3) Your story, your thoughts, your dreams, and your experience may be just the encouragement another woman needs to stop procrastinating and start moving forward.

Let's fill the internet with women bloggers and show that thoughtleaders come from all backgrounds and generations and are a force to be reckoned with.
